You may think rain chains are a relatively new concept but they’ve been around for quite a long time. The Japanese have used them on their roofs for hundreds of years. They are often seen in Japanese temples. You can actually find them in many places around the world now because they’re inexpensive and easy to install.

Before the last rainy season we installed some rain chains. Some people call them rain cups. They are a decorative and fun replacement for your traditional down-spouts. As you can see in these photos we just installed them for a customer in Ventura County. When add them to your rain gutters you install them in the hole where your down-spout should go. When the hole is bigger than the chain there is a special kit you can install to guide the rain down into the chain. After the chain is hung properly the Japanese would put an ornate ceramic pot underneath the catch the water, but that’s not used very often in the west.

There are many designs to choose from when you’re selecting which rain chain you would like for your home. JB can install rain chains very quickly and relatively inexpensively. We can also replace your current down-spouts with rain chains. We also install rain chains in Santa Barbara and Riverside. The photos above were from a Ventura install we did a few months ago. Give us a call toll free and find out how we can help you with your rain gutters.
